THE PRIVÉ WAY
LETTER TO EMPLOYEES
To my esteemed team of innovators:
When I set out to create the foundation that now supports Denim Prive, I did a lot of preparational work in the form of reading, research and reflection. I knew that it wouldn’t be enough to simply incorporate, hire bodies and push a product. Not for the otherworldly vision that has become our mission. It would take much more than following the average prototype. So, I dug deeper and asked myself the following questions:
- 1. How do I create the future that I want to live in?
- 2. What are the values that will ultimately fuse our individual powers into a lasting collective unit?
- 3. How do I manage continuity and change as a collective unit?
In short, the answer to these three questions involve a vision that supersedes the tangible and practical outcomes of our business. This type of vision consists of two underlying components: envisioned future and core ideology. In my last letter I shared the envisioned future for Denim Prive, which is to become the most inventive and admired apparel producer in the world. We know that in order to achieve this envisioned future, we must constantly evolve as a unit in order to stay ahead of change. We must always lead the path to innovation, never follow.
Our core ideology, though, is where the consistency lies. It is the soul of our brand that will ground us through the shifts we will inevitably face as we push forward to our envisioned future. It comes from within.
I discovered the values of Denim Prive’s core ideology with conscious eyes and with you in mind. These core values are a reflection of our authentic selves and a reminder of what we have the power to become as individuals and as a brand.
Denim Prive has five core values. The first is this:
We believe in continuous learning and self-improvement in all that we do. We will never be satisfied.
Take a moment to self-reflect. Think back to your childhood, a time of constant curiosity and self-discovery. From our earliest days, we were ruled by our hunger to know and understand the world around us. We’d wiggle our limbs and create movement or project sounds from our voice box to create harmonies. We are all artists by nature. But those who nourish that natural curiosity become creators in their own right and those who consistently seek new cravings and discoveries become the thought leaders of their generation.
We are both – the creators and the thought leaders. We have an insatiable curiosity that drives us down the path to self-improvement and continuous learning. With this level of artistry and commitment, there is no limit to our impact in our industry and on our planet.
